Environment
Hongkyun Kim is an environmental law specialist. Previously, he was a full-time Professor of Environmental Law at a major university in Korea for over 22 years. He served as President of Korea Environmental Law Association and President of International Environmental Law Policy. He still actively participates in the legislative process for enactment and amendment of environmental laws and serves in various national committees (including National Water Management Commission, Central Environmental Policy Committee and Soil Purification Advisory Committee). Mr. Kim is regularly invited to participate as an outside expert at various consultant meetings and advises the Ministry of Environment on matters relating to environmental laws.
As a member of our Environmental, Social & Governance Group, he advises on environmental law, including environmental impact assessment, air, water, waste, soil, emissions trading, ESG, and energy. Drawing upon his wealth of academic and governmental experience, his insight on the interpretation and application of environmental laws is especially valued by peers and clients alike.
