Jong Youn HAN is a partner at Lee & Ko with her practice concentrating in antitrust law at Lee & Ko. Since joining the firm in 2009, Ms. Han has extensive experience in representing multinational and domestic companies on various antitrust issues concerning cartel, abuse of dominance, unfair practices, merger filing, litigation, and intellectual property. She practices mainly before the Korean Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) and the Korean courts.Throughout her career, Ms. Han has been actively involved in many high profile cases in Korea or relating to Korean businesses in the semiconductor, IT, pharmaceuticals, shipping, telecommunications, aviation, chemical and other sectors.Ms. Han played a key role in the KFTC's investigation of alleged abuse of dominance in Qualcomm's licensing of standard-essential patents for mobile communications technology. Global Competition Review (GCR) awarded our work on this case by naming it the Behavioural Matter of the Year for 2017 (Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa). Furthermore Ms. Han has successfully provided advice needed by clients competing in the rapidly changing IT and Semiconductor market, based on her expertise accumulated during her practice in the high-tech sectors. Ms. Han also actively represented numerous international cartel cases such as international ODD cartel, international car carrier cartel, and international airline cartel cases based on her cross-border experience and expertise.In addition to her experience in Korea, Ms. Han was a visiting attorney at Ropes & Gray's New York office in 2015.

- Obtained the Korea Fair Trade Commission approval on behalf of Samsung Electronics with respect to its acquisition of Novaled.
- Obtained the Korea Fair Trade Commission's approval on behalf of CJ O Shopping with respect to its acquisition of On Media.
- Represented Lotte Group in connection with the merger filing for its JV transaction with Nestlé S.A., in regards to the instant coffee market, with an initial investment of 50 billion KRW (US$46.4 million).
- Represented Korean Shipping Company in the KFTC's investigation into the alleged unfair subcontract case
- Representing various multinational clients on the review and preparation of various distribution and other agreements to be used against Korean counterparties, in accordance with the applicable Korean antitrust and fair trade laws.
