Ju-Young Susie Im is a senior foreign attorney in the Finance Group. Her practice areas encompass Capital Markets, Energy & Natural Resources and Finance, with a particular focus on acquisition finance, project finance and asset finance. Ms. Im has acted for many financial institutions as well as both listed and unlisted domestic and foreign companies in various types of cross border transactions involving multiple jurisdictions.Her recent transactions include landmark acquisition financing transactions such as acquisition financing for LS Automotive by KKR, Lafarge Halla Cement Corporation by Glendwood PE and Baring PE, ADT Caps by Carlyle and Yakjin Holdings, Inc. by Carlyle, advising several Korean funds entering into funded participation transactions, a Korean fund's acquisition of The Westin Guam Resort, a Korean fund's acquisition of an office building "Washington Harbour" in DC, USA, Australian company's application to be listed on the Korea Exchange, a Korean private fund's investment in a toll road in Victoria, Australia with a number of other foreign institutional investors and Export-Import Bank of Korea's syndicated loan to a foreign shipping company for the construction of five large vessels. She also advised the Korean Legislation Research Institute on its analysis of the legal systems and trends with respect to the development of energy and natural resources from the Korean investors' perspective in MAVINS countries (Mexico, Australia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Nigeria and South Africa). Ms. Im received a combined bachelor's degree in Arts and Law from The Australian National University, Canberra, Australia in 2004 and a master's degree in Law from the same university in 2010.Ms. Im was admitted to the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory and the High Court of Australia in 2005 and is a member of the Law Society of the Australian Capital Territory, Australia.
