As a member of Lee &Ko's International Arbitration & Cross-Border Litigation Practice Group, Jin-uk (Joseph) Kim's practice mainly focuses on assisting clients with a broad range of litigation and dispute-resolution matters in various stages, including matters in the pre-arbitration/litigation and post-arbitration/litigation stages. Closely related to his commercial arbitration practice, Mr. Kim also has extensive experience in assisting and advising clients on various types of cross-border commercial transactions. With regard to international commercial arbitration matters, Mr. Kim is experienced with leading international arbitral institutions such as the ICC, SIAC, HKIAC, AAA and KCAB. Mr. Kim also has a wide range of experience in assisting clients of various nationalities - including the U.S., Europe, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Korea - in cross-border disputes and court litigations in foreignjurisdictions. This involves direct representation of foreign clients in the Korean courts, as well as contacting and liaising with foreign (local) legal counsel in other jurisdictions. Mr. Kim also has experience in assisting clients with various types of post-judgment matters, such as the enforcement and annulment of foreign judgments and arbitral awards.

- Represented and provided legal assistance to one of the largest conglomerates in Korea against several U.S. companies and a Singapore company in a case concerning a joint venture dispute brought in front of both a Korean court and a U.S. court
- Represented a German company operating ambulance aircrafts against a Korean maintenance company in relation to a maintenance-related accident which occurred at Gimpo Airport (Korea)
- Represented a U.S. company operating an aircraft against its Korean guarantors with regard to an aircraft lease agreement and guarantee agreement
- Represented a U.S. based automotive parts manufacturer in the Korean courts against a claim raised by its Korean counterpart arising from a supply agreement and related AAA arbitral award
- Represented a global resort company in the Korean courts against a claim raised by a resort guest arising from an accident that occurred while staying at the resort
- Represented an Italian fabrics manufacturing company against a Korean entity with regard to a sale and purchase agreement dispute heard by a Korean court (applicable governing law: CISG and Italian law)
- Successfully defended and provided legal advice to Korea’s top airliner in numerous international carriage cases heard by Korean courts where the application of the Montreal Convention of 1999 was an issue
- Represented a Korean affiliate of a U.S. company providing financial lease services to companies in Korea against a Korean company with regard to a financial lease agreement dispute heard by a Korean court
- Represented six Italian solar companies against a subsidiary of a financial institution in Korea in relation to a loan agreement dispute heard by a Korean court
- Successfully recognized and enforced a Russian court judgment for the first time in Korea based on reciprocity (mutual recognition) through representing a Russian company against a Korean company
- Represented a U.S. food distribution company in recognition and enforcement procedures in Korea with regard to a U.S. default judgment against a Korean company
