Woo Jin Choi is an expert in the Lease & Transportation Finance Group whose specialty has been built mainly in the areas of ship and aircraft financing. He has been representing and counseling major domestic or international financial institutions, ECAs, airlines and shipping companies in a number of ship/aircraft finance transactions. He has great knowledge and experience on the various types of shipbuilding or manufacture contracts, purchase contracts and lease or transportation contracts (as well as loan or other traditional finance documents) such as bareboat charter, bareboat charter with hire purchase, time charter, consecutive voyage charter, contract of affreightment and finance/operating lease pertaining to ships, aircrafts or the belongings thereto (e.g. containers, engines). With such knowledge and experience he has provided specialized and high-quality services which meet every demand of clients all over the process from an initial stage of term negotiations, through structure-decisions, documentation (in Korean/English), execution and performance of the transaction documents, to the delivery and employment of ships and aircrafts. Mr. Choi also provides legal advice for project financings and foreign investments accomplished via such tools as domestic private funds or special purpose vehicles in mortgaged debts or private equity in relation to the overseas plants, infrastructures, real estates, ships/aircrafts and other alternative assets. Mr. Choi advises frequently with excellent expertise on the Korean laws and regulations regarding a foreign direct investment and other foreign exchange transactions in which any domestic financial institution or resident is involved and represents the clients in filing FX reports with FSS, MOSF, BOK and other regulatory authorities.
