Minjae YOO
International Arbitration
Minjae Yoo is an associate in our International Arbitration Team. Minjae Yoo handles general international commercial arbitration and other international/cross-border litigation matters, with a special focus on matters relating to construction arbitration and recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards in the Republic of Korea. He has acted for both domestic and foreign clients in a number of complex and high value claims in international arbitrations conducted before the KCAB, ICC, and the PCA.
Representative Cases
- Acts for the chairman of a Korean conglomerate against foreign investors in international arbitrations concerning a shareholders dispute
- Represented a Korea-based construction company against an Omani subcontractor in relation to a water sewage plant project regarding LD claim and cost claim in an ICC arbitration
- Represented a State party in multibillion Investor-State claims filed by US-based hedge funds
- Represented a State defense procurement agency against a foreign manufacturer in an international arbitration
- Advised an individual in a set-aside proceeding of a multi-party arbitral award
- Advised a Brazilian automobile company in a dispute relating to an exclusive distributorship agreement on matters of Korean law
