As a member of Lee & Ko’s Intellectual Property, Healthcare and Franchise Practice Group, Se Won Min’s practice focuses on a broad range of intellectual property related disputes and counseling in the areas of trademarks, copyright, unfair competition, trade secrets, patents and IP licensing, advising on pharmaceutical companies in healthcare sector as well as multinational companies in franchise law sector.
Ms. Min has various experience in all areas of IP law, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets and advised foreign clients on patent prosecutions before the Korean Intellectual Property Office, invalidations, cancellations and scope confirmation trials before the Intellectual Property Tribunal and the Patent Court, as well as infringement actions before the judicial courts. Her expertise also extends to IP licensing and distribution agreements, unfair competition, and trade secret protection. She has been successfully representing and counseling clients in cross-border cases based on her understanding of IP systems in various jurisdictions. She involved multiple US patent infringement cases filed against Korean companies and IP disputes in Korea involving non-Korean companies.

She also advised on franchise laws as well as legal and regulatory issues arising from the implementation and adoption of blockchain technology.

- Represented Novartis against many Korean generic companies, which was one of the biggest patent infringement disputes related to blockbuster drug for heart failure treatment
- Represented a global company in a lawsuit involving the invalidation and infringement of a patent related to hair-dryer

- Advised pharmaceutical companies on Pharmaceutical Affairs Act
- Advised on responses to administrative sanctions for violations of the Narcotics Control Act and the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act
- Provided consulting on establishing compliance systems for a Domestic Pharmaceutical Company
- Advised on matters related to regulatory approvals of in vitro diagnostic medical devices and health functional foods
- Reviewed and provided advice on research contracts and license agreements related to pharmaceutical development, as well as related dispute resolutions
