Jongkwan (Josh) Peck is a senior foreign attorney in the Corporate Group of Lee & Ko, and specializes in the areas of Projects and M&A, Construction and Energy, and International Dispute Resolution.

Since joining Lee & Ko in 2001, Mr. Peck has handled numerous complex matters. His practice highlights in the Projects and M&A area include representation of KEPCO and KHNP in the $40 billion nuclear power plant deal with the UAE, representation of KHNP in the OL4 nuclear power plant project in Finland, and other overseas nuclear power plant delivery and operation projects including Saudi, Czech Republic and Egypt nuclear projects, as well as advising the world’s leading SMR developers in relation to their endeavors in Korea; LG Chem in its acquisition of NanoH2O Inc, LG Group in an investment into a Rolls-Royce subsidiary for fuel cell research and development; CH2M Hill in relation to the project management for the USFK base relocation project; MetLife in its proposed acquisition of Kumho Life; Woori Financial Holdings in the negotiation of joint venture agreement with the Aviva Group for operation of life insurance business; Munich Re in the acquisition of Daum Direct Insurance; LG Electronics in its sale of 50% share in its telecommunication systems business to Nortel Networks Limited; Boeing in its acquisition of shares in Huneed Technologies, a defense supply company; Korea First Bank in relation to sale of its shares by Newbridge Capital to Standard Chartered Bank; Lotte Shopping in its license agreement with Toys 'R' Us; Shanda Interactive Entertainment in the acquisition of Actoz Soft; Hanwha L&C in sale of Korea Independent Energy shares to Deutsche Bank; BNP Paribas in the negotiation of joint venture agreements with the Shinhan Group; Dongbu Group in the negotiation of a joint venture agreement with Evergreen; and PwC Consulting in the negotiation of ERP consulting agreement with POSCO.

Some of the major dispute resolution cases Mr. Peck has handled include: representation of the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation in a $150 billion ICC arbitration arising out of agreement for sale of a major Korean bank; Sikorsky Aircraft in a product liability and wrongful death litigation involving a crash of Black Hawk helicopter; shipowners, charterers, insurers, cargo owners and fisheries in hundreds of litigations involving ship collision, grounding, oil spill, salvage and general average, charter party dispute and cargo damage, including the "Sea Prince" oil spill case; LS Cable in ICC arbitration relating to construction work in Qatar; Pasteur Milk in a product liability litigation involving ice cream machinery; Samsung Corp. in ICC arbitration involving a tax dispute relating to the Pusan New Port Project; Honeywell in ICC arbitration against a major auto maker involving product liability; Seoul Commtech in ICC arbitration arising out of an agreement for supply of equipment to KEPCO; Hanwha Group in ICC arbitration involving valuation of shares in a put option contract; Oman Gulf Enterprise in ICC arbitration against a major Korean auto maker relating to a distributorship agreement; LG Corp. in ICC arbitration against a Saudi company relating to elevator distributorship agreement; KEPCO in KCAB arbitration against a major cable supplier arising out of submarine cable installation work; and Unison in KCAB arbitration involving purchase of wind turbine generators.

Mr. Peck holds a B.S. in Management from Boston College and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. He was admitted to the New York Bar in 1990, and practiced in Korea throughout his career.
